Sambrato Micro-Wedding
My first clients…
I had been looking forward to this wedding for many months for a multitude of reasons. For one, they were my first clients I had ever worked with. They took a chance on me while I was still building out my website and working at the farmers markets. A mutual friend at the market got us connected and the rest was history!
I immediately felt a connect to Nick and Lidia. Maybe it was their adventurous spirit, or the classic 1970’s Volkswagen Westfalia camper they drove around the Blue Ridge Mountains, or the constant sharing of magical secret car camping sites or hidden gems we would send to each other. But what drew me most to them was the love they shared for each other.
They wanted a private and intimate ceremony in one of the places most special to them. The Valle Crusic Community Park. They have been planning this day for over a year and planned this beautiful evening minute by minute so we would have the most beautiful sunset ceremony. I have a passion specifically for adventure elopements and micro-weddings so I was ALL in and 100% committed to making their vision come to life.
We nervously watched the weather forecast all week and decided to go with our original plan and we are SO happy we did. The weather cleared up right on time and we were blessed with the most incredible sunset.
Nick & Lidia are major foodies to say the least, so they went BIG on the pre-ceremony dinner. We had Reid’s cater our dinner and the food was absolutely exquisite. And of course Nick & Lidia couldn’t help themselves and had to contribute to the feast. The groom baked his famous homemade sourdough bread and the bride made her own pistachio wedding cake which was divine. And then we had chocolate biscotti and brownies supplied by Venture Chocolate Co.
The entire evening, we were accompanied by “The Moon & You”. Melissa and Ryan, a married couple from Asheville, blessed us with their beautiful music and harmony all evening which only added to the magic of the evening.
During the ceremony, we were surrounded by wildflowers, chirping crickets, and birds singing their last evening song before the sun dipped behind the mountains. It was one of those moments that was almost too beautiful to feel real. They read their personal vows to each other and there wasn’t a single dry eye at the end of the ceremony.
Micro-weddings may not be for everyone, but I will say…there were SO many special moments that were incredibly intimate. To be surrounded by your closest inner circle, the ones who love you unconditionally, your core people…wow. I was honored to be one of the 15 people to be able to witness their love and commitment to each other.
We ended the evening with a big bonfire, dessert, and dancing at Camp Broadstone where I got to see them celebrate with the ones they love most. I watched the evening unfold with so much love and laughter as I brewed coffee for their crew from the Westfalia. It was one of those days where I don’t think I could have chosen a better career path for myself. They made me feel so grateful to be able to do what I do.
