Getting started as a Boone, NC Wedding Planner…

I remember I couldn’t wait until all the backend tasks were finished when building this business from the ground up. Creating an LLC, starting up a small business bank account, building out my contracts, getting insured, all the boring tasks that I had little to no interest in…BUT I DID IT! And now it’s time for the fun stuff.

The last few weeks, I have driven over 800 miles scouting out locations for potential Adventure Elopement sites as well as meeting with several venues in the Western North Carolina area. I have seen so many beautiful places and can’t stop imagining the potential of what I can do once I get an opportunity to do what I do best at all of these locations.

I have already met with several venues and have quite a few more in the books to visit within the next few weeks. Most couples prioritize booking a venue first, and then my goal is to create a partnership with these venues. That way, they can get my name out to the couples that book with them where I then can serve as their planner at a venue that I am familiar. This will provide peace of mind for all parties involved.

Here are some of the places I have visited and the features I love most about their venue…

The Lily Barn - Townsend, TN

  • So close to Great Smoky Mountains National Park (Cades Cove is a MUST SEE!)

  • The need for decorations are minimal, they have flowers blooming everywhere and the grounds are absolutely beautiful.

  • A one-stop-shop! They provide everything from tables & chairs, eating utensils, linens, and catering.

White Fence Farm - Trade, TN

  • Has a rustic charm with so much natural beauty (rolling hills, pond, trails, etc.)

  • Very affordable for the newlyweds who are on a budget!

  • Can have a ton of freedom to do what you want on site (fireworks, bonfires, no noise ordinance)

Lovill House Inn - Boone, NC

  • Perfect for elopements, microweddings, or a more intimate wedding (50 or less)

  • Prioritizes sustainability (clean energy, no waste, supports local!)

  • Plenty of on-site lodging and within walking distance of downtown Boone.

Hidden Pastures Farm - Fleetwood, NC

  • Tons of hands-on support from Heather and her crew!

  • Affordable packages that can work within the budget of most couples

  • Can provide ALL decorations, eating utensils, etc. They have SO much available for their couples to use that some book this venue just for that reason alone.

White Crow Wedding & Event Venue - Banner Elk, NC

  • BEAUTIFUL 360° views of the Blue Ridge Mountains

  • Pet friendly!

  • Extremely private, it’s like being on your own private island in the sky.

The Lodge at Briar Creek - Roaring River, NC

  • You can get married under a beautiful mature walnut tree (dying to plan a wedding like this!)

  • Provides wonderful spaces for the bridal party to use when getting ready.

  • Covered porch with incredible views (especially in the fall!)

Appalachian View - Newland NC

  • Working with a team of true professionals, Cathy, Pam, and Gracie know the ins and outs like no one else. (trust me, you will be in GREAT hands)

  • Handicap accessible!

  • Lovely views of Grandfather Mountain (seriously…so picturesque here!)

I did a full venue highlight of all of these places listed here on my social media account (@woodedwildsevents on Insta). Feel free to give it a follow and go check it out!
